Dormlife factories are members of the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA). ISPA keeps all members informed of current legistration, fire requirements (FR) , disposal issues long before the Bills are passed. This allows us to act in the best interest of our customers as well as our industry.
One of Dormlife’s Members was a principal member on the original National Mattress Recycling Committee. Their primary responsibility is to develop programs that divert all mattresses away from landfills and towards recycling. By eliminating the carbon footprint left behind by manufacturers we have diverted over 500,000 mattresses away from landfills and into a useful after life.
Meet the Team
Jane Malkiewicz (Owner)
Jane founded Dormlife alongside her husband, Mark, and continues to play an essential role in the company’s operations. She attended Creighton University before earning her master’s degree from Arizona State University. Early in her career, Jane worked as a public speaker for Dun & Bradstreet, where she developed strong communication and presentation skills while working with professionals across a variety of industries.
After starting a family, Jane dedicated several years to homeschooling her four children full- time. In 2008, Jane and Mark launched Dormlife with the vision of providing high-quality, durable bedding solutions for universities and student housing providers across the country. Since the company’s founding, Jane has overseen all accounting processes for Dormlife. She also manages financial correspondence with the company’s manufacturing partners, ensuring invoices, payments, and financial records are handled accurately and efficiently.
Mark Malkiewicz (Head of Sales)
Mark is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he was a member of the university’s first National Championship football team before continuing his athletic career in the NFL. Before Dormlife, Mark was part of a family-owned bedding manufacturer, Wickline Bedding Co., which was the largest independent bedding manufacturer in the western United States. Wickline manufactured mattresses for major hotel brands including Holiday Inn, Marriott, and Hilton, as well as universities and the U.S. military.
Building on this experience, Mark and his wife, Jane, founded Dormlife with a focus on serving colleges and universities. Under their leadership, Dormlife has grown into one of the leading mattress suppliers in higher education sector. Today, Mark and Jane are joined by their sons, Corey and Drew, and their daughter, Julia. Mark also plays a key role in advancing Dormlife’s sustainability initiatives. He was a member of the National Mattress Recycling Committee, where he worked with industry leaders to develop a national recycling program aimed at keeping mattresses out of landfills and expanding responsible recycling infrastructure.
Drew Malkiewicz, J.D. (Head of Marketing)
Drew studied Marketing at Southern Methodist University before graduating law school at the University of Southern California. He began his career as a corporate attorney at a large law firm in San Diego, gaining experience in business strategy and client service. In 2022, Drew joined the family business, bringing his background in marketing and law to the Dormlife team.
Drew’s role centers on leading the sales process and helping campuses find solutions that support both student comfort and Dormlife’s sustainability-focused mission. He works closely with colleges and universities to understand their needs and guide them through each step of the purchasing process. He focuses on building strong partnerships with campus housing teams and ensuring that clients receive clear information and responsive support from the initial inquiry through project completion.
Julia Malkiewicz (Operations and Sales Lead)
Julia attended the University of San Diego and later earning her master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy in 2023. After working as a therapist and case manager at a local clinic, she decided to join the family business.
In her role, Julia helps oversee day-to-day operations and supports campus partners throughout the entire process, helping ensure a seamless experience while contributing to Dormlife’s commitment to sustainability and responsible mattress repurposing. She leads initial campus outreach and marketing efforts, while representing Dormlife at trade shows and industry events to build partnerships and expand the company’s presence.
Corey Malkiewicz (Business Development Lead)
After graduating with a degree in International Business from the University of San Diego, Corey joined Dormlife where he focuses on identifying institutional bedding opportunities with universities and student housing providers. He monitors RFPs and bid portals to secure new contracts with universities and public institutions while building strong relationships with housing and procurement teams. Corey also guides product sourcing and specifications to ensure Dormlife’s products meet durability, safety, and institutional standards. In addition, he represents Dormlife and Fully Covered at trade shows and industry events and tracks new student housing developments to position the company ahead of future procurement cycles.
